This is a colored pencil demonstration showing you how to blend with powder blender on gessoed paper on a big cat…the caracal! I’m going to focus on drawing realistic fur detail too!

I’m working in Faber-Castell Polychromos for the blended portions and details and Caran d’Ache Luminance for some of the more opaque details and white areas of the fur.

If you’re within the US, you can get the Powder Blender from http://brushandpencil.com

The portions I paint on are a mixture of Touch Up Texture and Colored Pencil Titanium White, also from http://brushandpencil.com.
Hobby Airbrush Kit (for spraying gesso)
Liquitex gesso (will need to be thinned with water for the airbrush) (amazon affiliate links)
When gessoing your paper, make sure to use masking tape to tape the edges down so that it doesn’t dry warped.
