I have never been one to be starstruck. Maybe that’s from spending most of my life in southern California, maybe its just that actors aren’t that exciting to me. Writers though, that’s another story. Having an author reply to one of my tweets or respond to a message or comment on facebook causes me to get excited. I just don’t understand how their brains can come up with such amazing and clear stories. They are sort of like magical aliens to me. Author Tim Mettey was not exception to this. I read his first two books in his The Hero Chronicles series last year (or maybe earlier this year, I have the memory of a mentally challenged goldfish). I followed him on facebook so that I could keep up with when the next book in the series came out. About a month ago he asked if I would like to paint the promotional poster to be used at some of the comicons he will be attending. Of course I jumped at the chance.
This painting is a scene from the first book, and really what started the whole story. Yes, the boy carrying the woman is much smaller than she is, that is intentional and apart of the story 😀 If you’re interested in reading these books, here are the links to amazon. You can actually download these to your kindle app for free.

Here is the time lapse video of the painting in progress. This was done in oil over acrylic paint.
