Simple Studio Essentials I Actually Use

The best art studio items are usually not even made for artists. The problem with the ones that are, they are usually painfully overpriced. These are some solutions I use for my art studio that are budget friendly but also amazing!!

Kitchen Island

Why I love These

  •  SO many sizes
  • Prices range to fit any budget
  • Tons of color options
  • Shelves and cabinets to store art supplies
  • Some have paper towel holders

Taboret’s made for artists are stupidly expensive and not the most practical as far as size and storage goes. You can save SO much money by buying a kitchen island instead. These are not just better because of the price, but because they store more and look better! In many cases they’re even built better.

Office Desk Mat

Why I love These

  • Inexpensive
  • Waterproof
  • Lots of colors and sizes
  • Protects the furniture under it

Such a simple item does so much to protect my kitchen island surface (or table if that’s what you’re using) from scratches and paint. Mine is boring black, but you can get it in all sorts of pretty colors to fit your space!

Why I love These

  • Make it easier to reach multiple items
  • Looks nice
  • You may even have one not in use!

Do you have too much stuff on your art table and it’s hard to reach some of the items? Try a lazy Susan! You can probably find these for super cheap at a thrift store, or buy new like I did from Amazon.

Why I love These

  • Protects your table or easel
  • Comes in any color you can think of
  • Self adhesive
  • Easy to swap out for a new one
  • SUPER budget friendly

I end up with so much paint on my easel that it makes the canvas not sit evenly. I used to scrape it off with a razer blade but that can damage the easel. Now I just cover it with shelving paper that can be easily swapped out when it build up too much paint! You can also cover your art furniture with this to protect it too!
