This week I’m reviewing the Mars Steadtler Lumograph graphite pencils and demonstrating a tamarin monkey using these pencils.
My set is the older one that came with the 7B and 8B that have carbon mixed in. Now you will need to purchase the “Mars Black” to get those two. These carbon pencils have a bit of a waxy feel to them compared to other carbon pencils I’ve used before. This was probably my favorite thing about these pencils because it allowed you to apply the carbon pencil right on top of graphite and it stuck well. Normally I’ve not found that to be the case.
The lighter H pencils I did not like. They were very scratchy and didn’t blend smoothly like the Faber-Castell 9000 pencils do. The B pencils were nice though.
