My love of working with Derwent Inktense continues this week in my surreal octopus in a tree…with chickadees! These are not watercolor, but they can get a similar look. Unlike watercolor these are permanent when dry so you can glaze much like you would with acrylics.

While I am using the whole set, you can mix colors easily with these so if you just want to try them out for the first time, the 12 pack of blocks is a decent set to start with. I’m working on Fabriano Artistico Extra white Hot pressed 300lb watercolor paper for this.
