Are you a self taught artist? Does this mean you won’t be as good at art as someone with a college education?
Have you heard the term “outsider art”? This is often used to describe someone who was not formally trained and who creates what most would consider bad technique, bad design, bad everything on a canvas. Honestly, it’s just an excuse not to put in the effort to learn the skills needed to create beautiful works of art.
On the other side of that coin, getting a formal education is no guarantee that your work will be amazing. No matter which path you take in art, it comes down to the effort you put in as to how great your work will become. We all start at zero, there is NO reason, self-taught or not, to stay there!
We all need to be reminded “Don’t drink the paint water” and other fun artist sayings.
Why not wear it on our clothes or coffee mugs to make sure we don’t forget? LachriMerch.com
