This week I am demonstrating a tiger that I painted in acrylics using Liquitex Basics on a Fredrix Nature Core Belgian Linen Paint Board. I wanted to have a grungy look for the background and the techniques that I would be using to achieve that worked perfectly on this canvas because of how smooth it is. This also made it perfect for fine detail. I always feel like it’s almost easy mode when I paint on these paint boards because I can get away with being lazy and using dry brushing techniques (which I normally avoid), yet the end result looks like I spent time blending everything smoothly.

My reference photo for this guy was provide by Paul Sherman over at Paint My Photo
